Jackie Gotroe. Born Jack Gautreaux, in San Francisco, son of a Cajun Frenchman and a Jewish girl. Jackie officially released only 4 singles between 1958 and 1960 but his "legend" lives on to this day. The songs Lobo Jones on Vortex and Raised On Rock And Roll / Rock It To The Moon* on Rhythm have been reissued and repackaged dozens of times on CD and vinyl over the past 40 years. Jackie went on to record Golden Spur for Keen records as a jingle for Golden Spur wine and in 1960 recorded Childs Play and Carolina Moon for Decca as Jackie Powers. There were two other singles recorded for Decca that have never seen the light of day.
