The Moon Stones. Group created for vocal additions to The Ventures - Let's Go! The combination group consists of Darlene Love, The Blossoms, and The Ventures. In 1963 they released one single, on Dolton - side A composed by members of The Ventures, side B composed by Dick Glasser.
Sonny Day. Real Name: Davis Fatawlsky. R&B and rock singer. In 1958 he released the first single, on Star (label from Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania) – both songs (Beyond The Shadow Of A Doubt bw/ Creature From Outer Space) composed by Fatawlsky. The same year he released the second single, re-recorded version of Beyond The Shadow Of A Doubt bw/ Jalousie. Five years later he recorded the third single, for Mala (subsidiary of Bell Records). In later years he recorded few more singles.
Mike Phillips & The Vocalaires. Obscure pop singer - in 1956 released one single, on Rainbow (NY label). The accompanying group is a mystery.
Garrett Saunders. Soul-pop singer - in 1962 released one single, on Serock. Both songs composed by prolific songwriters, Ron Miller and Lee Porter.
Ashton Savoy & His Combo. Obscure pop group. In 1957 released one single, on Hollywood - Latin flavoured blues bw/ rhythmic instrumental. Both tunes fall into popcorn music category.
Ronie Rae & The Sinners / Johnny Saint & The Sinners. Obscure pop singers. In 1959 released one single, on Tee Cue, obscure local label that released only two singles. The accompanying group is unidentified, presumably studio outfit.
The Uptowners. Obscure R&B and rock group, in 1959 released one single, on Rage (Hollywood, California), Flip Thompson. Few other groups active in the 1950s and 1960s use this name.
La Ronda Succeed & The Three Dolls. Another obscure R&B and rock group, in 1961 released one single, on Magnificent, small independent label. Clete Moore composed both tracks, also majority of other songs released by Magnificent.
The Challengers. Obscure pop-rock group, presumably a studio outfit, in 1962 recorded one single for Chancellor, in Los Angeles. Jimmy Bowen was running Chancellor's West Coast office those days and he produced both tracks. It is more likely that Jerry Cole who was a prolific session guitarist participated in recordings (45cat). Many other groups active in the 1950s and 1960s use the same name.
Sonny & The Eagles. Sonny Lester and a bunch of studio musicians. In 1961 they recorded a novelty song, divided into two parts and released by Gold Eagle label (R&B label from New York, owned by Sonny Lester) and it was the first single released by this label.
In 1963 Sonny & The Eagles released an instrumental thematic album (monkey in every song title), ‘Everybody Monkey’ – 12 dance tunes composed by music legends like Sonny Lester, Curtis Mayfield, Kenny Gamble & Jerry Ross, Lamont Dozier with Brian and Eddie Holland, and Bobby Darin with Dick Clark.
Ronnie Chapman. Obscure R&B and pop-soul singer. In 1959 and 1960 he released three singles, on Columbia. All six tunes fall into popcorn music category, four of them were released on French EP.
In later years Ronnie Chapman released few EPs
for Philips Spain.
