Hi Ernie, Every track from the wish-list is a treasury. Then, you've added three treasures - many thanks. Absolutely rare gems recorded by top artists. Two other top artists, Steve Lawrence and Brook Benton, are record-holders on the wish-lists.

Hi Professor,
Here are two more of your needs, the Roscoe Shelton and the Pete Fountain:

Also, I made a few comments in the 1961 section the past few days, I'd be interested in your thoughts on them. Thanks for continuing this massive project!

Hi,
Many thanks for:
1. two rare tracks from 1965
2. finding an error in Part 1961.02.
I've made paste and copy from Etta Jones' Complete 1944-1960 CD not checking the content. The track description/order is completely different than in the booklet. I can't remember such massive error on any other CD. Anyway, shame for me and many thanks for finding this error - I will correct immediately.

Thanks Professor! Some really good songs this year, and the b-sides bring back a lot of memories for me, as well!

thank you my friend - Aussie

Professor, I hate to keep digressing like this, but just to let you know, the two Etta Jones songs at the end of Part 61.11 are also incorrect. I figured you'd be more likely to see it if I put it here than in the 1961 section. Thanks for all your work!

Hi Professor I'm having problems downloading through Zippyshare not just your site but others as well, does anyone else have the same problems or is it just the UK

Regards
Geoff

Professor RnR said...

It looks that this is just the UK. There is a big debate on TwilightZone blog and some solutions are given there, eg. VPN

Professor RnR said...

Many thanks. Same mistake as described above. I've checked all Etta Jones tracks and also found out, in 61.10, one album track instead of 45. All mistakes are corrected now. And let me repeat, probably there are other mistakes (around 18 000 tracks in total, impossible to avoid mistakes) and I need help of Internet Community.

Many thanks for your speedy reply about Zippyshare It will be a big disappointment for me to miss out on the Billboard collections and hope you can find another way to upload your work for us Brits
Kind regards
Geoff

Rather than go with a VPN, you could try Real Debrid (a multi-hoster) and this should solve your Zippyshare issues. Very easy to use (even have plug-ins for Firefox and Chrome browsers). Inexpensive too, in my opinion. 4 Euros for 1 month, 9 Euros for 3 months and 16 Euros for 6 months.

The link at 65.18 256-270 appears to be broken. Thanks for your monumental effort to make these tunes available.

Hi Professor,

I listened to "Chartbusters - Why" - I think this must be an alternate version because my 45 sounded like this:

Professor RnR said...

Corrected. Thanks for finding this error.

Professor RnR said...

Yes, you are right. I've taken demo version of Why, from the only compilation CD of the group (https://www.discogs.com/artist/1120458-The-Chartbusters-2), not the original one - I will replace immediately. Many many thanks for your remark, such remarks are priceless to me. I'm trying to make this project the reference one but I know that I'm far from perfection and unable to detect all false takes, not the original ones.

Hi Professor,

It's good you are undertaking this project while some of us that can remember are still on the proper side of the turf!
