Obscure American Artists 1956-1963, Teen 268

 




The Norman Trio. Studio project of Darrell Nordskog (songwriter from Fargo, ND), one single released on Cuca (label from Wisconsin).

Jimmy Stephens. Pop and Doo-Wop singer from Los Angeles, member of The Safaris and The Angels. He recorded one solo single, released by Eldo (label from Hollywood, CA).

Al Travis. Teen Sound singer - one single for D (label from Houston, Texas).

Toby & Ray w. The Margilators. Rockabilly duo: Ray Carter and Toby Escobar - one single for Blue Moon (label from Santa Clara, California). The Margilators also backed Danny Lester (see Ta70).

Bobby Vacco. Teen Sound singer - one single for Impala Records (label from Philadelphia, Pennsylvania).

Wink & Judy with The Viceroys Five. Teen Sound duo - one single for Seafair Records (label from Seattle, Washington).

Sally Stevens & The Deltas. Vocal girl group - one single for Dot, both tracks composed by Sally Stevens.

Vicki Tasso. Real Name: Marie V. Tasso. Teen Pop singer from New York City. Recorded for Jeffrey (local label from NYC) and Colpix.


Ted Newman. Teen Sound singer from Arizona. Recorded for Rev (label from Phoenix Arizona) and RCA Victor.

Terry Teen. Real Name: Terence Blaine Knutson. Rockabilly artist originally from Eagle Grove, IA (1942 - 2012). In 1959, at Norman Petty Recording Studios in Clovis, New Mexico, he cut recordings of his first two songs, "Just Wait Til I Get You Alone" and "Orchids Mean Goodbye" backed by The Fireballs and produced by Norman Petty. These songs were released on a single by Warwick Records.
He recorded over 300 distinct songs and played on 100 or more released recordings Of the 300 songs in Teen's discography, "Curse of the Hearse" - a 1961 rock and roll adaptation of "The Hearse Song" - is perhaps his most famous, being played by Dr. Demento on the majority of his Halloween shows. "Pussy Galore" was originally written for the James Bond film Goldfinger, but was not featured on the film or soundtrack.
