Tierney’s Fugitives. Beat group from Birmingham headed by Peter Tierney (lead vocal). In 1965, The Group recorded one single, released Fontana, credited to

Pete Tierney & The Nighthawks (see BL100).

Later this year, Decca released a single credited to Tierney’s Fugitives. It is not clear whether the group set-up was the same, both songs were penned by

Peter Lee Stirling, a singer and songwriter from Birmingham (see BL 31), he also composed both  songs from Fontana single.

Donna Douglas. Pop singer born in Bangor, Northern Ireland. Donna's singles "did not chart," but record companies saw enough potential in her to keep trying. Initially signed to Fontana, Donna Douglas recorded four singles for them: "The Shepherd" (1958), "Come Back to Loch Lomond" and "Six Boys and Seven Girls" (1959) and "Teddy" (1960).

Piccadilly felt she had the right look and chirpy voice for the times and debuted her with "Tammy, Tell Me True" in 1961. The following year came the big push. "The Message in a Bottle" was nominated for the "Song for Europe" contest (aka Eurovision) but lost to Ronnie Carroll's "Ring-a-Ding Girl" which, obviously, did not bring a winner home to Great Britain.

Donna's next singles were "Matelot" (1962) and "It's a Pity to Say Goodnight" and "He's So Near" (both released in 1963). A final single, "Java Jones" turned up via Pye in 1964.

The Size Seven Group. Semi-professional pop-rock group from Corby in Northamptonshire.

Members: Brian Lynn-Dowell (vocals), Alan Black (bass), Billy Geary (guitar, harmonica), Billy Nicol (drums), Jack Stewart (lead guitar). George Cumming (piano, vocals), Alice Reilly (vocals).

In 1963 they recorded the first single, released by Rendezvous and credited to

The Size Seven.

In 1965 and 1966 they recorded next three singles, as The Size Seven Group, released by Mercury.
