John O'Hara & His Playboys. Pop group from Glasgow, founded in the early 1960s.

The band had a successful career in Germany between 1962 and 1966. They toured widely in Germany, headlining at the Star Club in Hamburg several times. In Germany they recorded three singles and one recorded live album, two tracks repeated on 33 rpm stereo EP, for Decca label.

The band relocated to England in 1966 where they had a flat in both London and Sheffield. They were regulars in all the in clubs in London, also regular visitors on the Manchester club scene. They signed a contract with Fontana label and between 1966 and 1968 recorded six singles and one album, recorded live at The Nite Owl club in Leicester – two tracks have been released on 45rpm single.

In 1969 John O’Hara started solo career and recorded several singles for different labels. In 1977 he released his last single, credited to John O'Hara & The Playboys.
