Bobby Dale. Obscure teen doo wop singer. In 1961 recorded the first single, for De Rose (Westbury, New York). In 1962 he recorded two more singles, for KoKo (New York) – three tracks bb. The Pedal Pushers (unidentified band).

The Del Rays. Pop group from Youngtown, Ohio: Johnny Stanko (lead vocals and guitar), Danny Carbon (keyboard), Joe "Mouse" Kalaman (saxophone), Nick Timcisko (bass) and Bruce Dill (drums). In 1963 they recorded the only single, for Tammy Records (Youngstown, Ohio).

Ray Fournier (Fournia) & His Rockin’ Rebels. Songwriter and singer from Biloxi, Mississippi. In 1960 and 1961 he released two singles, on local labels: River Records (label owned by Marion Carpenter) and Diamond Disk. The Rockin' Rebels included Ray's brother Dodie Fournia on drums, Pat Thorton, guitar, Gerald Blessey, bass (45cat).

The Cal-Cons. Obscure doo wop group. In 1962 they recorded one single, for Allrite Records - soul label from Detroit, Michigan. Both songs were composed by Richard "Popcorn" Wylieinfluential pianist, producer, band director and songwriter from Detroit.

The Ravels. Brooklyn streetcorner group.  One of their acquaintances, a man named Elmore Sheriff, had a song he had written back in 1955 that he called "Shombalor". This wacko tune was based on an old African work song. Anyway, Sheriff knew a guy named

Aki Aleong,

and Aki had some contacts with some local recording studios. Result: The Ravels got their chance to cut a record. They immediately cut one of their original songs, "Lonely One" for the flip side. The group got behind it, and made the record (this is why original copies on Vee Jay have "Sheriff and The Ravels" on one side and "The Ravels" on the other). Of course, not only did Aki Aleong take half the writers' credit for both sides, he got one of the EARLIEST production credits EVER for a rock and roll 45! Aki then shopped the tapes around to several labels, and Vee Jay Records in Chicago picked it up. The record never became a hit, but over the years it has consistently blown the minds of everyone who hears it.

The La Dell Sisters. Pop vocal group: Helen Chance, Inez Haynes, Delores Pinson (aka Dolores Dinning) and Kathy Copas. Chance and Haynes were sisters and formerly members of The La Croix Sisters who performed with Roy Acuff for three years on the Grand Ole Opry. Pinson (Dinning) was a member of The Dinning Sisters. In 1955 and 1956 they recorded three singles, for Mercury

The Brooktones. Obscure pop vocal girl group. In 1958 recorded two singles, for Coed.

The Music Men. Vocal group from New Heaven, originally composed by Santo ”Sandy” Ratineri, Chico Gambardella, Fred Merola and Ralph Donnarummo. First organised in 1956 under the name of The Teardrops. When a new group called The Teardrops came out on the King label, the boys had to change their name to The Bachelors and they recorded three singles (National, MGM). At the end of 1958, The Bachelors signed a recording contract with Johnny Bienstock from BigTop records and in January 1959, BigTop released the first of their two singles under their new name The Music Men, few months later the second single was released.
