Obscure American Artists 1956-1963, Teen 201

Neil Brandt & The Destinies. Obscure Teen Sound singer - one single for Etc... Records (label from Broadway, New York City. 

Carolyn Brent. Teen Sound singer - one single for Congress Records (label from NYC, launched in 1962 by Neil Galligan and Hutch Davie).

Bruce & The Charms. Teen Rock artists - one single for Robin Records (label from Cortland, New York).

Donnie Bryan & The Raging Storms. Bar band from Toledo, Ohio in the 1960s. Long time contract at the Peppermint Club in Toledo. Splintered from The Storms, one of the original rock 'n' roll bands in Toledo in the 1950s. In 1964they recorded three singles (one listed by Kreiter) for Keldon Records (local label from Toledo). Earlier, The Raging Storms recorded three instrumental singles for other labels (see Q71).

Billy Budd. Teen Pop singer - one single for 20th Century-Fox.


Terry Boyd & The Trends. Artie Wayne produced, co-wrote and sang the only single under the name Terry Boyd, in 1964. Arranged by Trade Martin.

Arthur Wayne Kent (1942 - 2019) was record producer, music publisher, songwriter and singer.

Dale Brooks. Teen Sound singer, in 1964 signed by the Al Kasha-Milton Stein label, Dolphin Records (from NYC), recorded one single. Three more singles in 1966.




The Barry Sisters. Claire Barry (née Clara Bagelman, 1920 -  2014) and Merna Barry (née Minnie Bagelman, 1923 - 1976) were Jewish sisters from the Bronx, New York. Their career as Yiddish jazz singers stretched from the late 1930s until the early 1970s. Signed to RCA in the 1930s as The Bagelman Sisters, they changed their stage name to The Barry Sisters for radio. They recorded numerous 78s and 45s as well as 11 LPs by 1973. In 1958/1959 four singles for Roulette, in 1963/1964 two singles for Colpix (listed by Kreiter).


The Bracelets. Soul/R&B girl group from Chicago, IL. Actually named The Starlets, they recorded a new version of "I Sold My Heart To The Junkman" (originally by The Basin Street Boys from 1946) in 1961 but the song was released under another group's name: The Blue Belles.
