Obscure American Artists 1956-1963, Teen 202

 


Carl Burrell. Reggae singer - one single for Arrawak Records (label from Bronx, New York), both songs composed by Carlton Burrell.

The Candy Stripes. Rock and Pop singer - one single for VIM (Variety in Music. US label distributed by Clock Record Distributors Inc. Broadway, NYC).

Kenny Carlton. Rock and Doo Wop singer - one single for Valli Records (label from South Bend, Indiana).

Wayne Chance. Teen Pop and Doo Wop singer, one single for Whirlybird Records (label from Hollywood, California) - Chance composed both songs.

The Chantiers. Doo Wop group - one single for DJB (label from Geuda Springs, Kansas).

Diane Castle. Born Diane King, Pop and Soul vocalist. In 1964 she recorded two singles (Decca, MGM). Also went by Ginny Satin, with one release on Philips in 1965.

 

Carmen Carroll. Jazz-Pop vocalist from San Bernardino, CA. One single for Sand (label from Hollywood, CA).











Larry Chance. Born Larry Figueiredo, 1940 in The Bronx, NY - died 2023. He was a singer and bandleader who helped keep doo-wop music alive for decades. His career began in 1957, when he and some friends from the Bronx formed the vocal group that would become The Earls. Chance later had a brief solo career, recording one single for Barry Records (label from New York City).
