Obscure American Artists 1956-1963, Teen 189

 



Lucy Campo. Pop vocalist from Corona, California. In 1962/1963 recorded three singles for RCA Victor. Earlier she recorded as Lucia Martin (see R37), Lucia Del Campo (her real name), Lucia & Johnny, and Lucia Darnell (Tb..).

Danny Segovia (& The Sessions). Vocalist from San Antonio, Texas, associated with the soul and Chicano soul scenes.

The Bender Sisters. Vocal group, three sisters, non-union studio musicians from the West Side. They recorded one single released by Lowe Records (Philly label owned by Bernie Lowe of Cameo/Parkway).

Bobbie & Bob. Vocal duo, recorded one 45 for Knight Records (label created in 1959 by Henry Stone in Miami, Florida).

Bert Conroy & The Misfits. White Doo-Wop group. Their only record was released on a label called Deb-Co Records, a small, likely independent label founded by Julius Dixon, a respected songwriter known for hits like the Chordettes' "Lollipop".

Jackie Kallan. Real Name: Arlene Stawinski, teen pop singer - one 45 for Motion (label from Long Island, New York).

Bob Terhune. Doo-Wop vocalist - one 45 for Versatile (label from New York City, a division of Audicon Records).

Diane Dixon. Born Diane Manor, country singer, former beauty queen, and weathercaster. She was originally from Alabama but moved to Nashville with her parents to push her career as country singer.  She recorded several singles, the first one in 1963, under the name Diane Dixon.









Les Seevers & The Oaks. Lester F. Severs,  country artist from East Coast. In 1958 he recorded the first 45, for Event Records (label from Westbrook, Maine), numerous 45s in later years.



Russ Walker. Irish-Italian pop singer, originally from Wisconsin, recorded one 45, with Buddy Cole Orchestra, for High Fidelity Recordings, Inc. (label located in Hollywood, California). Some other artists used this name.









Frankie Darcey. R&R singer born in New York in 1940.
