Rare Brit Pop, Discog...s of Lost Artists Pt. 187.1, 2: The Cadets Part 1,2

The Cadets. Irish showband active 1961-1970 fronted by singer Eileen Reed. After the release of the first single on Decca (‘Hello Trouble’ in 1964) the band switched to Pye Records and were soon number 1 in Ireland with their version of Jim Reeves’ ‘Fallen Star’. The band’s first and the only LP named ‘The Cadets’ was released in 1964. In 1965 The Cadets song (‘Jealous Heart) entered the British charts for one week. In 1966, management decided to engage male vocalist Gregory Donaghy and they topped the Irish charts with  ‘More Than Yesterday’. In 1968 Eileen Reed married the band’s sax player, Jimmy Day. Soon, they left the band. The Cadets continued recording and released several records without Eileen. Between 1964 and 1969, The Cadets released 12 singles in the UK and 5 Irish-only singles. The Cadets appear on more Irish Showband compilations than almost anyone else from the era, a testament to their popularity.

Yes, up to 204. Then, I will switch to US Obscure Artists. I like British Artists up to 1965. Generally, I like music from 1956 to 1964, practically everything. I do not like psychedelic sound that dominated music scene after 1965.

I also like British groups from the period between 1963 and 1966 more, although some psychedelic stuff is very interesting. But mainly what attracts me the most are 60's beat groups, and also Mod and British R&B groups.
