Rare Brit Pop, Discog...s of Lost Artists Pt. 195: Danny Davis; The Executives

Link below, track-list in Content

Danny Davis. Early 60's U.K. pop singer, born in Plymouth, studying in London for his B.Sc. that he decided to give up and concentrate on a career in show business. Started singing when he was a teenager. Between 1960 and 1962 released five singles, on Parlophone and Pye, also two tracks on V.A. LP. Danny Davis failed to reach the UK charts with any of his records , probably because at that time  there were just too many British male singers with a similar style. In 1963 Danny Davis joined the beat group The Marauders (see BL41).

The Executives. Mod-beat group from Backpool. The original line-up: Roy Carr (vocals), Peter Fielding (lead guitar); Reg Powell (organ); Derek Fell (drums); Ray Clown (bass); Colin McLaren (rhythm guitar). Replacements: Steve Unwin (drums), Robin Dalton (keyboards), Glenn Cornick (bass), Tony Williams (guitar, vocals).

Between 1964 and 1969 released nine singles, on Columbia (CBS): the first singles (mostly instrumental) in the mod-beat style, the later singles in psychedelic-rock style.
