Rare Brit Pop, Discog...s of Lost Artists Pt. 198: Sally Kelly; The Lemmings; Davy Jones

Davy Jones. During the 1960s, three singers were active under this name: member of The Monkees, David Bowie and the lesser known soul singer. He was born in 1944 in in the West Indies, but grew up in Canada where he emigrated with his parents. The family moved to England in 1958. Davy was given the opportunity to sign a recording contract with the Pye label. Subsequently four singles were released under the label.
In 1961, Davy Jones was booked for an afternoon performance, on December 8, 1961, at the Liverpool Cavern Club. Since Jones did not have his own backing band, he was accompanied by The Beatles that day. In 1962, Davy released his next single under Pye sub-label Piccadilly. Davy also tried his luck in Germany, performed around 120 times in the Star-Club in 1962/63.
In November 1963 Davy released a new single in Germany under the Philips label, next one, the UK-only in 1965. In 1966 Davy Jones moved to Amsterdam, co-founded the Relax label and released three singles, backed by Pocomania, a Dutch band from Amsterdam. The latest single was released in 1968, under the Philips Netherlands label.
